About ‘X’
“Their eyes are gonna pop out of their damn eyes when they see this,” a character says in the trailer for Ti West’s new Rated-R horror film, X. Art house film distributor A24 teased their next horror film on Twitter yesterday. Horror movie director Ti West (The House of the Devil, and The Innkeepers) returns with ‘X‘ the film stars Jenna Ortega, Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi), Brittany Snow, and Mia Goth.
The film follows a film crew who arrives to shoot an adult film at a secluded farmhouse in Texas. Their hosts, a reclusive elderly couple, take a special interest in their young guests. As night falls the couple’s leering interest turns violent. A24 teased the poster on January, 11 with the caption “Dying to show you a good time.” Co-financed by A24 and Bron, X is produced by A24, Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, Sam Levinson, and Ashley Levinson. Along with Mescudi as an executive producer.

‘X’ Trailer Breakdown
From the looks of it X is a period piece taking place sometime in the 70s or 80s, stylistically it’s very reminiscent of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or the early video nasty era. In classic horror movie fashion the trailer gives us a look at plenty of screaming women, a creepy naked old lady, a dilapidated house, and a plot that’s surely divisive. X will join the likes of Hereditary, The Lighthouse, and Midsommar in theaters on March 18.
