Twix Salted Caramel Review

Twix Salted Caramel

As long as your day isn’t a constant chocolate fest, it is okay to get yourself a little treat here and there. When you go with Twix, you essentially went BOGO. With their lore being steeped in there being a difference in left and right Twix (unless it’s a political ideology, this is lost on me), we urge you to pick both sides of their fun creations. I’m talking about Twix Salted Caramel. Can both sides coexist harmoniously within this packaging?

It’s hard to believe, I know, but every time I see Twix I don’t see the packaging busted from one side trying to escape the other. I don’t see it scorched to a crisp from one side trying to fight the other off. I don’t see long troll threads on the internet either.

All of that fantasy aside, Twix has solidified itself in candy bars as having the right caramel-to-chocolate-to-crunchy bar ratio. Naturally, it is time for it to evolve and try new things.

It’s not much of an argument to say “salted caramel is different from caramel because of salt.” You have me there, but you might get a taste where you can’t make that point. Try it and be wrong! If not, read on. I can outline how it can be different than that simple point.

Nutrition Facts for Twix Salted Caramel

We can agree, this is candy. However is it bad, terrible, ‘don’t eat this’ candy? I will stand beside the facts presented nutritionally and say, although it is candy, IT IS GOOD! For a serving (that’s both cookies, you lucky dog) you’ll get 200 calories, 9g total fat, 6g saturated fat, 0g trans fat, less than 5mg cholesterol, 180mg sodium, 27g total carbohydrates, 0g dietary fiber, 20g total sugars, 18g added sugars, and 2g protein.

Like I said earlier, if you aren’t having your dragon’s horde of chocolate in a day, this is a swell nugget to take on. You’ll be able to burn this off and get a second Twix in no time! That’s what it is all about anyway, so says I.

You Were Left and I Was Right: BeTWIXt Us Was The Truth

When it comes to Twix, you’re getting two long crispy cookies that are chocolate-covered and caramel-filled. This sounds like enough if you believe in the adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. However, there is a better way to look at this. What if it could work better with a small tweak? What if that tweak didn’t even require that much time? Wouldn’t that push this to the item’s new apex?

I submit to you that Twix Salted Caramel is a very simple iteration and that it is a superior version of the original. The salt brings in the savory that you didn’t know could make the treat thrive. I believe that finding that nice middle road of sweet and salty is a great way to feel fuller faster. It also makes for the best version of a snack (try M&Ms with hot popcorn, you’ll see).

Eating Twix Salted Caramel keeps all the right things right and gives us one more positive we hadn’t had before. I’d give this snack an 8/10 and would keep it going forward. So much right in one little package really can go a long way for your treat/snacking. If you hadn’t tried these, I hope this will shine some light on why you should, giving you some cross-references to ways it works and symbolism to bigger things it could work in.
